Dr. Pradipto Bandyopadhyay presents his credentials...

Media and communication studies

Writer,  editor,reporter, broadcaster and a communicator in the field Dr. Pradipto Bandyopadhyay has had practical multi-media experience in various media units of Govt. of India for nearly  thirty five years. He has delivered lectures on media and communication theories, issues and Communication Research in various universities and training institutes.

          Dr.Bandyopadhyay worked in media relations for several  ministries, including the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Defence. He worked for several years in the Press Information Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India in various capacities. He was one of the pioneers of various Public Information Campaigns in remote and far-flung areas.  He did field publicity work in the northeastern states and West Bengal for quite some time. This gave him exposure to various techniques in mass communication and inter-personal communication for effective dissemination of information on a number of campaign themes.

         As a News Professional and Broadcaster he was the architect of many innovations in the News Services Division of All India Radio. He was the moving spirit behind evolution of a new Style Book for writing, reporting and editing of news for All India Radio.

         Dr.Bandyopadhyay introduced many news bulletins and programmes in the headquarters and various Regional News Units of All India Radio.  Details have been described in his book entitled’ Radio Communication at Close Range’.

          A former member of the Indian Information Service, Dr. Bandyopadhyay worked  as Press Registrar of Govt. of India. This gave him a fair idea in the sphere of title clearance and registration and allied work in respect of newspapers, periodicals and publications in India.

          Dr.Bandyopadhyay is well-versed in the issues and techniques of the Print and Electronic  Media, ( both audio and audio-visual modes).
